How to spot and avoid job scams

Most job adverts are genuine, but scams target people looking for quick work. A few rules keep you safe.

Red flags

Be wary if you are asked to pay an upfront fee, send money for training or equipment, share bank details before being hired, or accept a job with no interview at all. Legitimate employers do not work that way.

Stay protected

Check the company exists, use an email address you can verify, and never hand over documents or money to secure a role. If an offer feels too good to be true, it usually is.
