Training and certification

You take a short accredited course (a few days) covering theory and practical handling, then pass an assessment. In the UK look for RTITB or ITSSAR; in Spain, Germany and Canada, accredited providers issue the equivalent operator card.

Who pays?

Some employers fund the course for staff, so it is worth asking once you are hired. If you pay yourself, treat it as an investment, the wage bump usually covers the cost quickly.
